English as a Second Language Guide

This is the public library system that serves our area. You'll find Timberland libraries in Centralia, Chehalis, Olympia, and many other communities in Southwest Washington.

Mango Languages at Timberland Library

The Timberland Regional Library System subscribes to Mango Languages, an online language learning system that teaches conversation skills for a wide variety of languages. Mango includes English courses for speakers of Arabic, Mandarin, French, Japanese, Korean, Russian, Spanish, and other languages. You will need a Timberland card to access Mango.

Audio Books at Timberland Library

The Centralia Timberland Library has a large collection of children's and adult books available on CDs and in their online Download Collection. Many of the books in the online collection can be downloaded to a mobile device. You will need a Timberland Library card to check out and use these materials.

(Some of the children's CDs include the book, so that you can listen and follow along in the book at the same time.)

Gale Courses at Timberland Library

Gale Courses provides a wide range of highly interactive courses that you can take entirely over the Internet. All of the courses are free and led by expert instructors. Courses run for six weeks and new sessions begin every month. ESL courses are in the Language and Arts category. Some of the courses are for students and some are for teachers of ESL.
